Safety-Week 2026

Last week, our co-founder Michael Raschke attended the Safety Week in Hanau and came back with a strong impression.

❗ There is more happening in the German automotive industry than many people realize. Amid headlines about crisis and transformation, it’s easy to overlook how much real innovation is taking place. Here is one example that particularly stood out to us:

A few years ago, we met researchers at the Technische Universität Dresden who had a very ambitious idea. They wanted to build a driving simulator that doesn’t just “simulate” acceleration, but makes it physically tangible. And how do you achieve that as realistically as possible? With an actually moving platform.

The challenges were significant:
🟡 enormous technical complexity
🟡 at the time, a lack of suitable infrastructure
🟡 and simply: a building large enough to accommodate such a system

Last week, Michael met the team from Auto Mobil Forschung Dresden GmbH again in Hanau.

🚀 The simulator has now been built and the dedicated facility is currently under construction.

For us, this is more than just a great reunion with long-term partners. It is a powerful reminder:
👉 Innovation takes time.
👉 And it often happens quietly before it suddenly becomes visible.

This is often seen as “typically German” It’s our strength.
Germany is moving. Quite literally.

A big thank you to the teams at Technische Universität Dresden and AMFD – Auto Mobil Forschung Dresden GmbH for the inspiring conversation and for the small (3D-printed) driving simulator, which now has a permanent place on Michael’s desk 😊
