2026: A Big Year for the Eye Tracking Community

2026 will be an amazing year for the eye tracking community and we’re excited to help shape it together with you.

Over the course of the year, we will roll out a wide range of new components for Blickshift Analytics and Blickshift Recorder. These updates are designed to make professional eye tracking analysis even more powerful, more flexible, and easier to integrate into real research and industry workflows.

We’re also preparing support for new eye-tracking hardware, which will be fully compatible with both Blickshift Recorder and Blickshift Analytics. As always, our goal is to give you freedom of choice without compromising on data quality or analysis depth.

Practical Eye Tracking Knowledge on YouTube

On our YouTube channel, we’ll significantly expand our hands-on tutorial content.

We’ll start with a dedicated series on automotive eye tracking studies, covering the full workflow:

  • study design
  • data recording
  • analysis and interpretation

The focus will be on affordable equipment combined with simple but powerful analysis techniques, methods that actually scale from research to real-world applications.

Next, we’re planning a tutorial series on eye tracking in VR. This is a use case we strongly believe will gain more and more relevance in the coming years, across research, industry, and training. Along the way, we’ll also show how Blickshift tools can be effectively used in market research scenarios.

Learning from the Best: Power User Interviews

In parallel, we’ll be publishing interviews with Blickshift power users from around the world.

These conversations will give you direct insight into how experienced researchers and industry experts use Blickshift in their daily work and what concrete benefits it brings to their analysis workflows. No marketing stories, just real use cases and honest experiences.

Research Highlights & Events in 2026

One of the major highlights of the year will be our presentation of the next-generation version of our VR research game Abracadata at Gamescom 2026 in August.

We’ll be showcasing it together with our fantastic research partners from the PRETINA project, pushing forward immersive and data-driven VR research.

In parallel, within our second research project EYE-TEACH, we will continue to support our research partners in bringing eye tracking into schools using it as a supportive tool to help improve reading skills and learning outcomes.
